The Florida Writers Association’s 10th Annual conference was a weekend full of writers celebrating their successes and learning their craft. Tony was with us in spirit every day. It is humbling to know that a few minutes of our time to thank someone for a gift truly made a difference in his life, as he did in ours.

Chrissy, you were the final link that made this all happen for Tony. Can’t thank you enough. Our Motto of Writers Helping Writers has never shined as brightly as it did during the Florida Writers Conference of October, 2011. And then, as you say, we all benefited from Tony’s gift in more ways than we could count.

Strong work and strong finish, Tony!! Great post Doug, thanks for sharing it! I’m so glad you were able to get Tony’s book into my good bag – it touched my heart and gave me a smile! I know Tony is much more comfortable and happier now, RIP.

Hey Brenda,
Yup, Tony held on until his heart’s desire was fulfilled. I’m so glad his gift had such meaning for you especially considering your own wonderful efforts within another Florida hospice. Keep on trucking and I really want to read your memoir when it’s finished. I’m so hoping it will make a difference in the lives of others.

Doug, What a wonderful story! I read Tony’s book and sent him a note telling him that I enjoyed it. What you, Chrissie, the Florida Writer’s Association, Rose and Hospice of the Comforter did is truly an example of why we are put on this earth – to help others and make their lives better! Way to go!

Hi Susan. Thanks for being a part of Tony’s story and your kind words. Isn’t it great when we’re able to find an opening and actually make a difference? I truly think some things are meant to happen.
