History, Mystery and Paranormal: Young Adult

Sliding Beneath the Surface

Sliding Beneath the Surface

The St. Augustine Trilogy: Book I,

Sliding Beneath the Surface

A review placed on Amazon by Nancy R.

Sliding Beneath the Surface is a very distinctive narrative told from the perspective of a 15-year-old, Jeff Golden.

It is a story packed with much history, suspense and paranormal scenes and characters.

The history and surrounding of St. Augustine are excellently brought to life in Doug Dillon’s story.

Sliding Beneath the Surface, refers to a concept that there are many worlds within worlds, in layers. The concept is a good one and well-developed. This book centers on two teenagers and their adult mentor with unique abilities to split themselves and experience more than one layer at a time.

The characters of Carla and Lobo are well executed and strong. Jeff. . . does a good job of expressing the unstable emotions of a teenage boy.

The author did a great job of using historical facts to create this paranormal book. I would recommend this book for a younger adult – ages 12-14.
